I love morning coffee chats with friends that feel like family, traditional tacos, a summer rain while sitting on the front porch, bingeing period dramas or The Great British Bake Off. I’ll always invest in travel or flowers for the garden over handbags, and won’t think twice about splurging on either. I’ll never turn down a warm chocolate chip cookie, it’s like a good ole hug from my mama and a long 4×4 drive on the beach.

TWO EXPERIENCES SHAPED MY FUTURE AND FUELED MY PASSION FOR PHOTOGRAPHY

When I was just a little girl, I lost my father.
Becoming a mother for the first time.

Death was something I became aware of at a young age and because of this, I’ve always made sure to have a deep appreciation for the people and places I love. I’ve always been a memory-keeper.

Once I became a mom I began looking back on my own childhood. My mom and siblings were all I had, but there was only one photo.

My journey into motherhood has taught me many lessons, but documenting the people and places I love has been one of the most important.

My love for the beach is so strong! Just a month after getting married David and I bought our first 4×4 vehicle so that we could off-road on the beaches of the Outer Banks. If it’s summer, you bet we are finding a way to get down to the beach!

FRISCO

This big guy is a Golden Retriever, Great Pyrenees mix. Before Frisco we had a black Lab of 14 years, named Duke. It’s been really interesting learning about Frisco’s breed. He’s smart, will paw you to death, wants to be on top of you and is the size of a small pony.
