MEET DREAMA
HI! IM DREAMA
I believe the photographs we create for our children become part of how they remember where they came from.
I’m Dreama, a Virginia portrait photographer specializing in timeless portraits of children, newborns and families. For more than a decade, I’ve had the privilege of photographing childhood in all its fleeting stages and helping families turn those photographs into artwork made to live in their homes for generations.
As a mother myself, I know just how quickly the little things change. The round cheeks. The tiny hands. The way they fit against you. My work is rooted in preserving those details beautifully, while making the experience feel thoughtful and cared for from beginning to end.
WHY IT MATTERS
I KNOW WHAT A PHOTOGRAPH CAN BECOME
I lost my father when I was little. Years later, when I became a mother myself, I found myself looking back at my own childhood differently.
There were so few photographs.
The ones I did have suddenly felt incredibly important. They weren’t simply pictures anymore. They were pieces of a story I wanted to hold onto.
Motherhood made me understand that in an entirely new way. The ordinary little things we think we’ll remember forever have a way of changing before we realize they’re gone.
That is why I believe so deeply in creating photographs that aren’t meant to live forgotten on a phone or hard drive, but become part of a family’s home and history.
It’s also why I care so much about what happens after I press the shutter. I want to help you create something tangible your children can someday hold and know: this was me, and this is where I belong.
