My approach to maternity photography is light, timeless and quietly refined, with the focus on you and the connection already forming between you and your baby. Nothing needs to feel elaborate or overly styled. The beauty is already there.

Studio Maternity Portraits
Simple, light-filled and quietly elegant, studio maternity portraits keep the focus entirely on you. With soft light, neutral surroundings and thoughtful posing, we’ll create portraits that feel refined without feeling overly formal.
In-Home Maternity Portraits
There is something especially meaningful about documenting this season at home, in the place where you’ll soon bring your baby. In-home sessions allow for a softer, more personal approach and are especially beautiful when partners and children are included.
On-Location Maternity Portraits
For mothers who feel most at home outdoors, we can create your portraits at a thoughtfully selected location with beautiful natural light. From quiet fields and gardens to Virginia’s coastal landscapes, we’ll choose a setting that complements you without overpowering the photographs.

What you wear has a beautiful way of setting the tone for your portraits, but choosing it doesn’t need to feel overwhelming.
Before your session, I’ll help you select pieces that photograph beautifully, flatter your changing shape and feel true to your personal style. I tend to recommend soft colors, feminine silhouettes, subtle florals and timeless pieces that allow you to remain the focus of the photograph.
If your partner or children will be included, I’ll help coordinate their clothing as well so everyone feels connected without looking overly matched.
And if you’re deciding between a few options, you’re always welcome to send photographs. Styling is something we’ll work through together.

You Don't Need to Know How to Pose
You don’t need to be comfortable in front of a camera to have beautiful maternity portraits.
Pregnancy changes your body quickly, and I know being photographed during this season can sometimes feel vulnerable. Throughout your session, I’ll gently guide your posture, hands and movement so you never have to wonder what to do.
We’ll take our time, make adjustments when you need them and create portraits from angles that feel both flattering and natural.
Years from now, I don’t think you’ll see the things you may be worried about today. You’ll see the woman who carried your baby.
THE ONES WAITING WITH YOU
Your Family Is Part of This Story, Too
Your maternity session can be about more than your changing belly.
Partners and children are always welcome to be included, allowing us to preserve the anticipation surrounding the newest member of your family alongside portraits focused entirely on you.
These don’t need to feel like formal family photographs. A hand resting on your belly, your little one curled against you, or the way your partner looks at you during this season can say so much.
We’ll create a thoughtful balance of maternity portraits, connection and family so the finished gallery tells a fuller story of this moment in your lives.
PLANNING AHEAD
When Should You Schedule Maternity Portraits?
Most maternity portrait sessions take place between 28 and 34 weeks, when your belly is beautifully defined while you’re still likely to feel comfortable moving and posing.
Every pregnancy is different, though, and we’ll choose your session timing with you in mind. Mothers carrying multiples or those with special scheduling considerations may prefer an earlier session.
I recommend reaching out during your second trimester, especially if you have a particular date, season or location in mind.

A Maternity Experience Thoughtfully Planned for You
1. Plan
We’ll begin by talking through your vision, location, wardrobe and who you’d like to include. I’ll guide you through the details so you don’t have to plan the session alone.
2. Prepare
As your session approaches, we’ll finalize clothing and any remaining details so you know exactly what to expect when portrait day arrives.
3. Photograph
During your session, I’ll gently guide you through flattering poses and natural connection while keeping the pace comfortable and relaxed.
4. View
After your session, we’ll meet for your private Artwork Design Appointment, where you’ll see your finished portraits for the first time and choose your favorites.
5. Make Them Yours
Choose what feels right for your family, from framed artwork and albums to keepsakes, portrait collections and digital images.
The entire heirloom portrait experience generally
takes 8-10 weeks from session to finished product.
Maternity Portrait Commission
Your maternity portrait commission includes everything needed to thoughtfully plan and create your session:
$350 session fee
Each commission includes:
• Personalized session planning
• Wardrobe and styling guidance
• Guidance coordinating your partner and children, if included
• Your maternity portrait session
• Gentle posing and direction throughout your session
• Professional retouching of your finished portraits
• Private Artwork Design Appointment
Most families invest between $1,200–3,200 on framed heirloom artwork and portrait collections.
Artwork is selected and purchased during your private viewing and design appointment.
Once artwork has been purchased, digital images are also available to purchase from your gallery.
All pricing is subject to VA Sales Tax of 6%

Maternity portraits preserve the anticipation. Newborn portraits preserve those first days when the baby you’ve been dreaming about is finally in your arms.
Many families choose to plan both experiences during pregnancy, allowing us to create a beautiful continuation from waiting for your baby to welcoming them home.
Newborn sessions are relaxed and baby-led, with time for feeding, changing, soothing and settling along the way. Like your maternity session, every detail is thoughtfully planned so you can simply be present with your family.

Maternity Portraits Throughout Hampton Roads
Maternity portrait sessions are available in my light-filled Newport News studio, in your home, or at thoughtfully selected locations throughout Virginia.
I welcome mothers and families from Williamsburg, Yorktown, Newport News, Hampton, Norfolk, Virginia Beach and surrounding Hampton Roads communities, with travel available throughout Virginia for select commissions.

Absolutely. I’ll gently guide your posture, hands and movement throughout your session so you never need to know what to do in front of the camera.
Are digital images available?
Yes. After your session, we’ll meet for your private Artwork Design Appointment to view your finished portraits and choose your favorites. Framed artwork, albums, keepsakes, collections and digital images are available, including the option to purchase your full digital gallery.
