The first year of your baby’s life passes in a blur of firsts. As a Virginia Beach baby photographer, I created the Baby’s First Year Collective to preserve each season through timeless portraiture and heirloom artwork designed for your home.
Rather than disconnected sessions, this is a thoughtfully curated body of work that grows with your child and becomes part of your family’s legacy.
What is the Baby’s First Year Collective?
The Baby’s First Year Portrait Experience is ideal for families who want to commission a cohesive series of portraits during their baby’s first year. This experience includes your choice of three to four portrait sessions, including maternity, newborn, six months, and one year, creating a cohesive story of your baby’s growth and personality with a trusted Virginia Beach baby photographerguiding you through each chapter.
Each session is planned with artwork in mind, so your portraits feel connected and timeless when displayed together.

Milestone Chapters
Newborn Portraits
Nothing is more precious or fleeting than a tiny newborn. Pure & Simple portraits allow your baby’s features to be the focus.
Three Month Portraits
At three months, babies begin to smile and connect. These portraits capture the softness of early expressions and delicate features.
Sitter Session (Around Six Months)
Sitter sessions celebrate joyful smiles, chubby cheeks, and the moment your baby begins to sit and explore the world.
Nine Month Milestone Portraits
At nine months, personality shines. These portraits capture curiosity, movement, and connection.
First Birthday and Cake Smash
A first birthday session celebrates your baby’s first year and marks the transition from babyhood into toddlerhood with timeless portraits and optional cake smash imagery.
Milestone Sessions À La Carte
Milestone sessions are available for families who wish to celebrate a single chapter, such as a sitter session or first birthday portrait. Many families begin with maternity or newborn portraits and later choose to commission the Baby’s First Year Portrait Experience to create a cohesive, heirloom collection of their child’s earliest chapters.
THE heirloom FIRST YEAR ALBUM
Many families choose to commission an Heirloom First Year Album, a custom-designed book that grows with each milestone session. Each chapter is added as your baby grows, creating a tangible record of their first year.
This album becomes a family heirloom, a storybook of your child’s earliest days designed to be held, shared, and passed down. It pairs beautifully with framed wall portraits and allows you to preserve the full narrative of your baby’s first year in one refined piece.
Your favorite images hand-bound in an album to be passed down for generations with lay flat pages and photographs printed on archival fine art paper, lasting a lifetime.

When should I reserve my Collective membership?
I recommend reserving your membership during your second trimester to ensure availability for your newborn session. Because I only accept a limited number of Collective members each year, early booking allows us to plan your sessions with care and intention.
Where do the sessions take place?
All sessions are held in my studio. The space is designed for comfort and calm, with two settings: a cozy lifestyle area and an all-white, minimalist portrait space.
Can siblings or parents be included?
Yes, absolutely. While the focus is on your baby’s milestones, I always welcome parents and siblings for select portraits within each session. These images help tell the complete story of your baby’s first year and the love that surrounds them.
Do I receive digital images?
Digital images are available for purchase with artwork or as part of a collection. Most families choose both, heirloom pieces for their walls and albums, and digital images for safekeeping.
What is included with each session?
Each session includes my complete styling guidance, access to the client wardrobe, and the option for professional hair and makeup for mom. After each session, you’ll have the option to create artwork or wait until the end custom frames, albums, or prints to beautifully display your portraits.
Do I have to schedule all three sessions right away?
No. We’ll begin with your newborn session, then plan your next two sessions based on your baby’s milestones, typically around six months (when they can sit unassisted) and one year (standing or walking). I’ll reach out when it’s time to schedule the next session so everything feels effortless.
What kind of artwork can I create through the Collective?
Many families choose to design a wall gallery or a custom album that brings all three sessions together. I’ll guide you through selecting the pieces that best fit your home and style so your portraits tell a cohesive story — one that grows more meaningful with time.
