HOW MANY TIMES AS A MOM OR DAD
DO YOU FIND YOURSELF SAYING,

“No jumping on the couch!”

There are so many times throughout a day where you have to make a decision whether to correct your child or extend grace. It reminded me of a podcast I recently listened to, God Centered Mom – Gospel Parenting. In the podcast Paul Tripp says, “Authority isn’t an ugly thing, an abusive thing, or a hurtful thing. Authority is a patient thing, a tender thing, a loving thing, a rescuing thing, a guiding thing, a wisdom thing.”

If you haven’t listened to it, please do yourself a favor – go right now, and listen! So much good information.

As parents, we aren’t expected to be perfect nor to have all the answers. None of us are free from the need of Grace. What we are here for, is using God to soften our children’s heart’s to authority (it isn’t a bad thing!). In a patient, tender, loving, rescuing, guiding and wise way.
