I was so excited when Chelsea Furlong of Chelsea Lyn Photography said she offered mentoring sessions! Chelsea and I only recently became friends when I realized she was a local photographer. An amazingly talented one at that when it comes to documentary photography. Education is SO important and I had never had to opportunity to shadow a photographer, discuss technical topics and hear about how a typical session goes with a well seasoned photographer. We only spent a couple of hours with the girls, but I loved every second of it!
Documentary photography is something I have a lot of growing to do in, but it fills my heart with so much joy.
I LOVE GETTING TO KNOW FAMILIES.
Mallory & her girls were nothing short of sweet. They have been patiently waiting for their daddy to return home from being deployed. This family reminded me a lot of mine, since David is working 7 days a week right now, I’m doing pretty much everything home related. Even though Mallory is very much married, right now, shes doing things as a single mama. Though she never let on that she was exhausted or stretched thin — like I often am.
These photos were to be shared with daddy when he got home.
Mallory, thank you so much for sharing your home with several of us!!
